Secretary-General of the League of Arab States visits Tunisian Foreign Ministry and meets Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad

As part of his visit to the Republic of Tunisia, Mr. Nabil Fahmy, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, was received on the evening of 8 September by Mr. Mohamed Ali Nafti, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, at the Ministry’s headquarters.

The meeting followed up on the discussions and consultations held between the Secretary-General and the Tunisian Foreign Minister following the conclusion of the 166th Ordinary Session of the League Council at the Ministerial Level.

The two sides discussed ways to follow up on the resolutions and directions adopted by the Council, as well as continuing close coordination between the General Secretariat and the Tunisian Presidency of the Ministerial Council during the period ahead.

The Secretary-General emphasised the importance of sustained consultation and coordination to support the Tunisian Presidency of the Ministerial Council in assuming its responsibilities, advance the priorities of joint Arab action, follow up on the implementation of Council resolutions, and strengthen the League’s capacity to address current Arab issues and challenges more effectively.

The meeting also addressed a number of issues of common interest and ways to further develop cooperation and coordination between the Republic of Tunisia and the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States during the coming period.
