Secretary-General of the League of Arab States holds talks with Tunisia's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad

Secretary-General of the League of Arab States Mr. Nabil Fahmy held a telephone conversation with Mr. Mohamed Ali Nafti, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad of the Republic of Tunisia.

Mr. Fahmy expressed his appreciation for Tunisia's longstanding contributions to the work of the League of Arab States, as well as its recognised diplomatic efforts and principled positions in defence of Arab causes and priorities, foremost among them the Palestinian cause and the rights of the Palestinian people, in international fora.

Minister Nafti congratulated Mr. Fahmy on assuming his duties as Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, wishing him success in leading joint Arab action in the next phase.

The two sides exchanged views on regional and international developments, with particular emphasis on advancing support for the Palestinian cause and capitalising on the growing international momentum in favour of Palestinian rights.

The conversation also addressed the means to bolster joint Arab action and develop its mechanisms to respond effectively to evolving regional and international challenges, particularly in light of Tunisia's forthcoming presidency of the Council of the League of Arab States at the Ministerial Level.

Mr. Fahmy outlined his vision for enhancing the effectiveness of joint Arab action, reaffirming the General Secretariat's commitment to maintaining close consultation and coordination with Tunisia on Arab and regional issues in a manner that advances shared Arab interests.
