Secretary-General of the League of Arab States discusses regional developments with Lebanese Foreign Minister

H E Mr Nabil Fahmy, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, held a telephone conversation with Lebanese Foreign Minister Youssef Rajji on 29 July, during which they discussed developments in the Arab Mashreq and across the Arab world.

The two sides agreed to maintain close communication, particularly in light of the concerning and tense circumstances facing the Arab region.

The Secretary-General emphasised his support for efforts that advance the interests of Arab States, which have consistently upheld international law in pursuit of peace and stability in the region.

The Lebanese Foreign Minister expressed his country's support for the Secretary-General's efforts to reinvigorate the role of the League of Arab States as the institutional framework for Arab issues.

He further affirmed Lebanon's readiness to contribute to the League's development plan by providing distinguished diplomatic personnel, thereby strengthening the General Secretariat's capacity to respond to current challenges and enhancing the effectiveness of joint Arab action.
