Nabil Fahmy rejects Israeli Defence Minister’s remarks on resettling Gaza, says Israeli government is under settler control

Secretary-General of the League of Arab States Mr. Nabil Fahmy denounced statements by the Israeli Defence Minister regarding plans to establish settlements in the northern Gaza Strip. He said that these statements reflect the Israeli right wing’s agenda to reoccupy the Gaza Strip, or parts thereof, and are in flagrant contradiction to the peace plan put forward last year, as well as UN Security Council Resolution 2803 (November 2025).

Mr. Fahmy called on the international community and the UN Security Council to confront these extremist right-wing tendencies aimed at entrenching the occupation, noting that the Israeli Government is entirely under the control of the settlers.
