Nabil Fahmy extends condolences on the passing of former Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani

Mr. Nabil Fahmy, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, extends his deepest condolences and sincere sympathies to His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, the ruling family, and the government and people of the State of Qatar on the passing of His Highness the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, who passed away on 12 July 2026.

As the Secretary-General shares in the grief of the leadership, Government and people of the State of Qatar at this painful loss, he recalls with deep appreciation the late Father Emir’s historic contributions to Qatar’s development, his prominent role in supporting the advancement of joint Arab action, strengthening Arab solidarity, and serving Arab and Islamic causes.

Mr. Fahmy paid tribute to his memory, praying that he be granted mercy and forgiveness and rewarded for his distinguished service to his country and the Arab nation.
