H. E. Mr. Nabil Fahmy condemns the attack on two vessels in Damietta and warns against cowardly attempts to widen the conflict in the region.

Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, H. E. Mr. Nabil Fahmy strongly condemned the attack on two vessels at Egypt's Port of Damietta, describing it as an unacceptable act of aggression against Egypt and warning against cowardly attempts to widen the conflict across the region. He also reiterated the League's rejection of attacks against Arab states and called for reducing tensions to preserve regional security and stability.

H E Mr Nabil Fahmy, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, strongly condemned the targeting of two vessels at the Port of Damietta in the Arab Republic of Egypt on 29 July.

According to a statement issued by the Egyptian Cabinet, the attack was carried out by a drone.

H E Mr Fahmy stressed that this attack constitutes an unacceptable and condemnable act of aggression against Egypt's national capabilities.

He warned against the consequences of any desperate and cowardly attempts by certain parties to expand the ongoing regional conflict and drag the region into reckless and ill-considered adventures.

The Secretary General reiterated that attacks against Arab states are unacceptable under any circumstances.

He highlighted Egypt's clear role since the outbreak of the ongoing war in February in working seriously and consistently to find a way out of the deepening crisis, while engaging with all parties to de-escalate tensions on a basis that brings an end to the attacks and preserves the security and sovereignty of Arab states, as well as peace and stability for all.
