H. E. Sr. Nabil Fahmy: Netanyahu's rejection of peace plan reveals disregard for international will

H. E. Mr. Nabil Fahmy, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, said that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's statements rejecting the 15-point roadmap for completing the implementation of the comprehensive peace plan for Gaza, and insisting that no Palestinian State be established in either the Gaza Strip or the West Bank, constitute an explicit disregard for international will and the established parameters of the peace process, directly undermining prospects for a peaceful settlement and the achievement of a just and comprehensive peace.

H E Mr Nabil Fahmy, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, said that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's statements rejecting the 15 point roadmap for completing the implementation of the comprehensive peace plan for Gaza, and insisting that no Palestinian State be established in either the Gaza Strip or the West Bank, constitute an explicit disregard for international will and the established parameters of the peace process, directly undermining prospects for a peaceful settlement and the achievement of a just and comprehensive peace.

H E Mr Fahmy affirmed that Israel's repeated violations of the ceasefire, including attacks targeting civilians and medical facilities in the Gaza Strip, constitute a flagrant breach of its obligations and the requirements of relevant United Nations resolutions.

He welcomed the clear position expressed by the foreign ministers of the eight Arab and Islamic countries in their statement issued on 6 August regarding these violations.

H E Mr Fahmy stressed the importance of the full and serious implementation of the comprehensive peace plan and of completing the process established by the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit in October 2025.

At the summit, President Abdel-Fattah Al-Sisi emphasised the need to proceed with the implementation of all stages of the agreement, with a view to reaching a just and comprehensive settlement that guarantees the Palestinian people their legitimate rights, foremost among them the establishment of their independent State.

H E Mr Fahmy warned that continued Israeli attempts to impose new realities on the ground in the Gaza Strip and the occupied West Bank, coupled with the expansion of its control over Palestinian territory, are aimed at entrenching the occupation and undermining the possibility of establishing a Palestinian State.

Such actions are in flagrant violation of international law and relevant resolutions of international legitimacy.

The Secretary-General called on US President Donald Trump and the international community to assume their responsibilities in ensuring the full implementation of the comprehensive peace plan, in accordance with United Nations Security Council Resolution 2803 (2025), and to exert pressure on the Israeli Government to cease its violations and fulfil its obligations, thereby preserving prospects for a just and lasting settlement.
