H. E. Mr. Nabil Fahmy warns against Israel's reliance on force to impose security

H. E. Mr. Nabil Fahmy, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, strongly criticised Israel's persistent reliance on the use of force as a means of territorial expansion and altering realities on the ground. He cited the targeting of civilians and civilian facilities through ongoing military operations and continuing violations in the Gaza Strip and the occupied West Bank, as well as Israel's repeated attacks against Lebanon and Syria and its violations of their sovereignty and territorial integrity.

He cited the targeting of civilians and civilian facilities through ongoing military operations and continuing violations in the Gaza Strip and the occupied West Bank, as well as Israel's repeated attacks against Lebanon and Syria and its violations of their sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The Secretary-General stated that Israel's arrogance and its expanding use of military force will neither bring Israel security nor ensure its stability.

Rather, it will further exacerbate regional tensions, widen the scope of confrontation, and threaten regional security.

Mr Fahmy emphasised the imperative of respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Arab States, bringing an end to the attacks against Lebanon and Syria, ending the Israeli occupation of the occupied Arab territories, foremost among them the Palestinian territories, and establishing an independent Palestinian State on the 4 June 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
