H. E. Mr. Nabil Fahmy receives Lebanese Foreign Minister at General Secretariat headquarters

His Excellency Mr Nabil Fahmy, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, received Mr Youssef Rajji, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Lebanese Republic, at the General Secretariat headquarters on the sidelines of the 166th session of the League Council at the Ministerial Level.

The official spokesperson for the Secretary-General said that the meeting addressed the latest developments in Lebanon.

Mr Fahmy expressed his support for the Lebanese Government and its efforts to extend state control over the entire national territory and ensure the exclusive possession of weapons by the state.

The Secretary-General affirmed that the continuing Israeli crimes in southern Lebanon including killings, the demolition of buildings, and the destruction and levelling of villages are aimed at imposing a new reality by force and exporting tensions into Lebanon’s internal sphere.

He expressed confidence in the Lebanese people’s ability to thwart this scheme and preserve civil peace and the cohesion of Lebanon as a united state, despite all the challenges.
