H. E. Mr. Nabil Fahmy discusses efforts to support Yemen's security and stability with Yemeni Foreign Minister

H. E. Mr. Nabil Fahmy, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, received on 7 September Dr. Afrah Al-Zouba, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Republic of Yemen. The meeting addressed the latest developments in Yemen and efforts to support its security and stability in ways that meet the aspirations of the Yemeni people and preserve the unity of the Yemeni state and its national institutions.

His Excellency Mr Nabil Fahmy, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, received on 7 September Dr Afrah Al-Zouba, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Republic of Yemen.

The meeting addressed the latest developments in Yemen and efforts to support its security and stability in ways that meet the aspirations of the Yemeni people and preserve the unity of the Yemeni state and its national institutions.

The official spokesperson for the Secretary-General said that Mr. Fahmy reaffirmed his commitment to continuing support for the Republic of Yemen, the legitimate government and the country’s national state institutions, in a manner that safeguards Yemen’s unity, sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity, preserves its legitimate institutions, and prevents the entrenchment of a reality that would weaken the national state or undermine its ability to discharge its responsibilities.

The spokesperson added that the Secretary-General and the Yemeni Minister agreed on the need to intensify Arab efforts in regional and international forums to mobilise political support for the Yemeni cause and strengthen international backing for the legitimate government.
