H. E. Mr. Nabil Fahmy delivers opening address at AI Forward Summit in Tunisia

As part of his visit to the Republic of Tunisia, Mr Nabil Fahmy, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, attended on 9 September the opening of the second edition of the AI Forward Summit, held under the theme “From Vision to Value: Accelerating the Building of an AI Society”.

In his address, the Secretary-General asserted the importance of harnessing the opportunities offered by AI to support development and enhance competitiveness, while investing in infrastructure and human capabilities and addressing the challenges associated with digital divides, governance and the responsible use of technology.

Mr Fahmy stressed the League of Arab States’ continued efforts, in cooperation with Member States and regional and international partners, to strengthen Arab capabilities, facilitate the exchange of expertise and promote partnerships, while working to translate the Arab Strategy for Artificial Intelligence and the Arab Charter on AI Ethics into practical tools and tangible outcomes.
