H. E. el Sr. Nabil Fahmy condemns renewed Iranian attacks on UAE and Jordan, calls on Iran to end use of baseless pretexts to threaten regional security and stability

H. E. Mr. Nabil Fahmy, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, condemned in the strongest terms the renewed Iranian attacks targeting the United Arab Emirates and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, stressing his categorical rejection of these acts, which constitute a flagrant violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the two States and a clear breach of international law and the Charter of the United Nations. He emphasised that any infringement upon the security of an Arab State or targeting of its territory, under any pretext, is wholly unacceptable.

His Excellency Mr Nabil Fahmy, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, condemned in the strongest terms the renewed Iranian attacks targeting the United Arab Emirates and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, stressing his categorical rejection of these acts, which constitute a flagrant violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the two States and a clear breach of international law and the Charter of the United Nations.

He emphasised that any infringement upon the security of an Arab State or targeting of its territory, under any pretext, is wholly unacceptable.

The Secretary-General expressed the League of Arab States’ full solidarity with the United Arab Emirates and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and its support for any measures they may take to protect their security, sovereignty and territorial integrity.

He affirmed that the security of the two States is an integral part of the Arab national security framework.

Mr Fahmy also firmly rejected the justifications put forward by Iran to defend its attacks against Arab States and its threats to their security, sovereignty and territorial integrity.

He called on Iran to respect the sovereignty of Arab States, stressing that safeguarding the security and stability of the region requires adherence to the principles of international law, giving precedence to dialogue and responsibility, and refraining from any steps that could widen the escalation or endanger the security of the region and the interests of its peoples.
