Aboul Gheit holds telephone call with President Salam, affirms support for Lebanese Government's decisions

Mr. Aboul Gheit condemned the Israeli escalation against Lebanon, considering that the expansion of attacks by Israel reflects an unacceptable attempt to exploit the current circumstances in order to violate Lebanon’s sovereignty and entrench a condemned occupation in contravention of international law. He called upon all parties to return to strict adherence to the cessation of hostilities agreement signed in November 2024. He stressed the importance of continuing the implementation of that plan in order to safeguard Lebanon’s sovereignty and to ensure that the decision of war and peace is effectively vested solely in the hands of the Government, free from any other agendas.
