Secretary-General of the League of Arab States meets with Syrian President on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly

H. E. Mr. Nabil Fahmy, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, met with President Ahmed Al-Sharaa, President of the Syrian Arab Republic, on the sidelines of the high-level meetings of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

The meeting addressed the latest developments in the Syrian Arab Republic, as well as the rapidly evolving developments at the regional and international levels.

Mr Fahmy affirmed the League of Arab States’ keenness to strengthen its presence in order to keep pace with the Syrian state’s efforts during the period ahead and support its endeavours to preserve the unity and sovereignty of its territory, advance economic recovery, and promote reconstruction and development.
