H. E. Mr. Nabil Fahmy, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, met with Mr. Abbas Araghchi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, on the sidelines of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

The meeting addressed the repercussions of the current crisis for Arab States and ways to resolve it.

Mr Fahmy stressed the need to respect the security and sovereignty of Arab states, uphold good-neighbourhood relations, de-escalate tensions and prioritise political and diplomatic solutions in a manner that contributes to restoring security and stability in the region.
